A red cubic zirconia in a teardrop cut, 8 millimetres, set in gold.

Made from 925 sterling silver, plated with 18 karat gold. Each pair weighs 1.2 grams and fastens with a butterfly clasp.

The silver is nickel-free, lead-free and cadmium-free to European standards — hypoallergenic, and comfortable for most sensitive ears.

The stone is cubic zirconia rather than ruby, which is why the colour is a clear bright red instead of a deep one, and why the earring costs what it does. Red and gold is a winter combination — it works against black and cream and fights almost nothing. They arrive in a free jewellery box with a polishing cloth.
