A pearl hanging beneath a square of zirconia-set silver, 17 millimetres in total.

Made from 925 sterling silver with a rhodium layer. The pair weighs 4.9 grams and fastens with an omega clasp — a hinged back that closes flat, more secure than a butterfly and easier to fasten one-handed.

The rhodium layer stops the silver tarnishing and keeps the shine longer. The silver is nickel-free, lead-free and cadmium-free to European standards — hypoallergenic, and comfortable for most sensitive ears.

Pearl needs slightly gentler handling than zirconia: put them on after perfume rather than before, and wipe rather than soak. The combination of a hard sparkling stone above and a soft matt pearl below is what gives these more depth than either on its own. They arrive in a free jewellery box with a polishing cloth.
