Sterling Silver Butterfly Necklace with Chain Drop

One butterfly with soft matte wings, another with long narrow wings that catch the light, set at different heights on the same chain — and a thread of chain falling between them to a single stone.

Made from 925 sterling silver with a rhodium layer, set with cubic zirconia.

The rhodium layer stops the silver tarnishing and keeps the shine longer. The silver is nickel-free, lead-free and cadmium-free to European standards — hypoallergenic, and comfortable against sensitive skin.

Nothing about it is symmetrical, and that is the point: the butterflies sit at two heights, the drop falls to one side of the middle, and the whole arrangement looks less placed than landed on. That also makes it an easier present than most butterfly jewellery, which tends to be neat, matched and a little young — this one is off-balance enough to look designed. Wear it on its own; a second chain would catch the drop. It arrives in a free jewellery box with a polishing cloth.
